What materials did you use? I used 100% cotton fabrics. It is paper pieced and I am selling the pattern here on Craftsy.

What are you most proud of? That I stayed with it for three days and finally figured out how to make it work. I have made two of them and everyone who sees them really loves them.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't use the horizontal looking sky fabric, get a mottled all-over and let it just suggest sky. If you do use sky like I did, you will have to cut the pieces to each side of the boat at a 60 degree angle.

Thank you so much. I invented it after being hesitant to try a pattern which had flat triangles that needed to be put together perfectly. I was worried I couldn't do it, so I spent 3 days figuring out how to make a three dimensional sailboat using paper piecing. I'm really pleased with the outcome.

So sorry to learn the pattern is no longer available. I love it! Is just the flag on top 3-dimensional??

The sails are also 3-D. I hadn't made the block in about 1-1/2 years when I wrote up the pattern instructions. When I attempted to make another one, I realized how much more information I needed to include in the instructions. Sorry about that, but I do hope to have it corrected and on sale again soon.
