What materials did you use? Silk fabric from Denver Fabrics (the brick-and-mortar store)

What are you most proud of? This is the first dress I've managed to successfully sew from silk. The fabric was pretty fussy and difficult to work with, but it feels amazing on. I learned a lot about working with silk that I can better apply to my next project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? You may want to consider making a muslin of this dress before cutting your final fabric. I changed the sleaves from a puffier leg-of-mutton sleeve (not flattering on me) to a simple cap sleeve. I also had to alter the armhole area since this pattern seemed to be built for shoulder-pad inclusion (again, not flattering on me). The tucks around the bustline are also a bit fussy, so you may want to take your time with that area to get the best fit. The pattern called for a tie or buttons on the center bust seam, but a simple seam seemed better with this delicate fabric.

Kir, very nice! Silk can be very difficult and you mastered it! Only in the Rocky Mountain city of Denver-yeah! It is my home, too!
