Materials
I suggest a worsted weight wool for the adult and a sport weight for the childs. You will need approximately 80 yards for each layer. Samples shown uses Gems Worsted wt. and Sport wt. by Louet.

I was making a sweater with this idea and had extra yarn to try a hat.
