This is the BOM 2013, Feb. "Partial Seams" block. The 5 various black & white prints are just from fat quarters I picked up at my neighboring quilt shop.

Very smart idea, to make a table runner out of this block or is it the blocks on top of each other. Either way it looks great.

Yes, Ladybev! that is right! It was very fun for me! It actually made the process simpler for me,,, limiting the colors let me focus on learning the construction process. Your blocks are very appealing! It is a very attractive combination! :) I look forward to seeing you next blocks!!!

There's more to these guys construction than meets the eye. The separate bands of the 5 colors can blend like mine do or be totally different. My brain went with gradiation of color.n

This pattern is Feb. lesson from BOM 2013 -"Partial Seams." Use 5 different prints ( not necessarily same color), but following a gradient scale. Sew 4 sections together onto center square

Thanks Jean! I reversed the layout after I did the first one that turned out to be a black plus sign. The center is black and has a thin double red/green stripe but when I turned the units I liked the black out on the corners. You just never know! :-)
