What was your inspiration?
Way back when, I had a turquoise blue, corduroy covered 3-Ring binder. I loved the feel of that fabric covered binder. I still have it, it held up well.
My kids would buy new, vinyl binders each school year and maybe they would last till half way through that year. It was a shame to throw them out, so I came up with this method of using the old binder guts and recovering them with fabric!
Now you can re-use, recycle and really have some personality to those old 3-ring binders! Going to school just got a whole lot more fun.
What are you most proud of?
Making something beautiful and useful out of something that would have gotten thrown out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun. You will find so many uses for beautiful binders in your home. This is not just for using at school. Make decorative scrapbook binders, recipe binders or create binders to liven up your office space.
