Bright pink and white fleece, embroidery sewing machine, extra-loft quilt batting, bright pink thread, light pink thread, white thread, and other sewing tools.
What was your inspiration?
I created this quilt for raffling to raise funds for the "Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure", which I will be participating in Phoenix AZ, Nov 11-13, 2011.
What are you most proud of?
I came up with the idea to raffle something handmade; initially considering a blanket. I then became more creative as I went, and decided to try my hand at making my first quilt. I was so please with the quilt that I decided to make a matching pillow.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be sure to use firm iron on backing when embroidering on fleece. Not embroidering with a machine on fleece before I found out how stretchy the fabric is. The thread can easily get caught when not having good support on the back side of the material.
