My first shirt was an 18, which was too big, so I figured out it should have been a 14, which this one is. I also posted this shirt under Pam Howard's class for making a classic tailored shirt, since I used some of her techniques (e.g., flat felled seams and using tailor's tacks for the darts). This shirt fits so much better, but there is still something going on with the bust to the underarm and shoulder. I'm still so new at this, I don't know what's causing that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think your shirt looks terrific! If you are having fitting problems with the bust/underarms or anywhere else, Joi Mahon has a wonderful class! Fast Track Fitting. I have taken both of her classes and even though really packed with info so that you get sorta crammed, they are GREAT for fitting patterns and she is very prompt in answering Q's. Personally, from the pic you have, I dont see anything wrong with the bust or underarm area though! GREAT JOB!

I'm wondering if you need a little more room at the apex of your bust. There are different ways to get a full bust adjustment. You can google Full bust Adjustment and there is a very good class with Kathleen Cheetam that will give you information on making adjustments on princess seams, giving more room above and below the apex as well as changing where the darts go. You have sewn a lovely blouse, and it is disappointing when you go to all that work, but it feels a little tight in the bust, and arm hole. Good luck! I, too have to do adjustments in this area, but I loved sewing with Pam Howard's class.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll have to look into those.
