Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Funky

Materials

Home dyed calico for base and cotton fabric for backing. Wool batting. Assorted threads and fibres.

What was your inspiration?

Carol Ann Waugh's fabulous class. But didn't want to hang it on the wall. Overlocker was screaming for a cover that was as bright and cheery as my sewing machine cover.

What are you most proud of?

Using up more bits from my stash and having something fun and funky to show for it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

You may not have exactly everything listed in the course materials but you can make something great by improvising. Have a go and above all, have fun :) There are no rules :)

I love the red you started with. And what a great idea to make a machine cover out of the fabric.

Yes! Why not make something functional that's beautiful (and you get to see all the time!) Love it!

Thanks Carol. I feel mine look a little chunky! Am I couching too far apart perhaps? Any feedback would be appreciated.
