The design was found in Issue #126. of 2009 "Sew Beautiful Magazine'. There was no pattern for the romper included in the article. So I purchased Pattern #105 for the front and #107 for the back from "Creations By Michie' patterns online..Difficulty:
Category: Sewing
Type of item: Clothing
For: Children
Style: Cute, Retro / Vintage, Traditional, Classic
Materials
Handkerchief linen for romper and hat, white batiste for collar, cuffs, and hat lining. Rayon thread for Brazillian embroidered 'snails' and 'trails' on collar and cuffs; snap tape for crotch, buttons
What was your inspiration?
Saw this pattern years ago in Sew Beautiful magazine and have wanted to make it all these years. I finally have a new baby in the family to make it for. It is a size 12 mos. I love the Swiss handkerchief linen, and the 'old fashioned' looking romper style.
What are you most proud of?
Love the Brazillian embroidered designs on the collar and cuffs. It just sts off the outfit.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take your time. I used French seams inside, flat fell seams on the sleeves, and tucks in the front. It is a lovely little ensemble and I can't wait to see it on my Grand nephew.
