What materials did you use? organic cotton jersey, fabric paint, upholstery thread

What are you most proud of? It fits - and how great the black & grey turned out - everyone admires it and it has almost no errors.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? this technique takes a long time - but it's lots of fun to do and yeilds a unique look.

Both are beautiful! I love the light paint on the bloomers pattern, really pops. How much jersey did you use for each? The book says 4yds for a single and 8 yds for the embellished - or something close to that. It seems like too much, so I haven't tackled that skirt yet...

Thanks Sunneshine - at 60" wide I got 6 gores from 75cm ( a yard is 91cm) but I'm fat so I needed 7 gores and thus had a big left over piece - this was for single layer so multipy by 2 - 2 yards of each fabric will be plenty - 1 yard of each if you are thin or make bigger gores with less seam allowance

make you pattern first - then calculate from that - you don't really need to allow ease at all for this knit fabric.

Thanks!

the stitching is beautiful. what kind of paint did you use?

I used an acrylic paint mixed with a fabric paint medium, the colour was white. I applied it using a make up sponge.

Beautiful and your stitching is impeccable.

Wow! This is just beautiful! Please explain your process. It turned out so well!

I mostly just followed the course instructions but I made the pattern by measuring my hip and waist and working out the size.
