to start this project, make your heart shaped fruit cake, cover your board with the colour of your choice, then place your cake, cover with fondant make a blanket to place on top,slightly larger,so you can gather it around the back and near the blocks, this gives you some where to hide flower stems. make your roses and buds,and some leaves, a few ribbons sprays, get 2 poly styrene cubes, cover with fondant and then cut strips to frame each side. stack your building blocks on the cake, leaving enough room at the back for a few flowers. let this sit for a day or two ,this can be sqewered to the cake for extra support.as they are foam the have very little weight. now make some balls of all sizes and flatten out for the pebble stones around the base of the cake. I chalked around these to give a bit of depth. moving on. to make the picket fence that the banner hangs from is just a scalloped cutter and i continued the lines down to make it look like pailings. I coloured the fondant first and then hand painted in details.
the bunny is made of 50/50 fondant and mexican paste i made a large tear drop shape for the body, rest it against the blocks, slightly push his body to give it the leaning pose. use spaghetti as the supports for the arms and the feet, I used 3pces for the head supports for the head make a larg ball and flatten the front just a little where the nose goes. nose is made of an oval shape flattend, make a mark with the tool to create the two side of his mussle. fix to face,put hole in for eyes and fill with balls of black paste,not to small. put a pink flat nose on the mussle, poke holes for the whiskers, you can add them if your wanted, use stamens.look at picture for details
now the arms, make 2 sausages and flatten slightly a hand, indent fingers with tool.(look at pictures for reference) make a wrist dent by rolling you little finger above flattened end, do the same at elbow. join arms on supports, slightly bend hands to touch blanket.
paws, make 2 fat tear drops and flatten, indent toes as shown, flatten heels just a bit, join to body, put a pink pad and 3 small pink pads on sole as shown in picture.
make bow tails and join then add bow, make 2 buttons and add to shoulders as if arms were sewn on. Ears, make 2 lrge fat tear drops, add pink tear drop shape slightly smaller to flont, flatten the based to attatched to head, bend to give life.. remember to make him chunky,as if a stuffed rabbits would be. I added a pink patch to the back of his ear on one only.
Add banners to each side with bows, place name on them, or leave off altogether, add some piped flowers and grass at base, I have added a picture without the banner and the piped flowers, it shows the detail of the pebble stones and the pailings around the sides

I made the fruit cake from scratch,like I had learned from Tafe. The people loved the cake.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
give yourself plenty of time, I like to leave my fruit soaking for a week, then leave it another week after its cooked before I cover them, then another week for the fondant to firm up
