Here are some details about my project:

What materials did you use? I used soft geen 100% Cotton hand dyed. I used a piece of rose print curtain material 100% cotton in the same tone of green. I used beige background material cotton blend. I used satin lining to make the back of the circles to reduce weight.

What are you most proud of? I watched the video many times took notes, which I was not able to print. Amy's instuctions are very good and clear. I spent hours looking at all the submitted dreden plates. My heart is in this one. I read all the questions and discusions I spent hours imagining which material I would use. Once I had chosen the material, I bravely cut out the blades, by placing the pattern template all around the material to get different parts of the print to make similar pieces across from each other. When I got all the blades together the hole in the middle was bigger than predicted. I decided to do 2 circles and did the method Amy showed on the video. The difference is I used satin lining to reduce the weight and it worked.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I was surprised how easy this block was when I finally got it done. the points, were more forgiving than I had thought. I got it done very quickly. I have gone on to cut out a whole quilt worth of blocks of this dresden plate. Be Not Afraid!!!

I love your design!! I too was afraid to try this block but finally did mine (I will take pictures and submit) and was so pleased with my results that I am going to do a whole quilt of this block. I figure it will help reduce the crazy mess of a 'stash' I have accumulated. I have enough material to quilt the world, I think!! I love your four green blades and your double circle. I especially love your material choices! Keep up the good work!!

I'm glad what I shared, about my own experience helps others to overcome the fear of doing this block. I also have made enough of this block for a quilt and will be posting the quilt top later in the week.
