What was your inspiration?
The bird/birdcage fabric was the initial inspiration for the pieced block. I was also inspired by "time". My time for crafting is limited so making small quilted projects satisfies my desire to make a quilt in a very short period of time.
What are you most proud of?
My favorite part of this trivet is the straight quilted lines.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a great project for using up fabric scraps or smaller yardage of fabric you have on hand. The final size should be based on your scraps or on your cooking needs, so design the pieced block as you wish making sure to use up your scraps.
