Sewing: My Favorite Purse!
23 kudoz

My Favorite Purse!

I totally love everything about it!

I totally love everything about it!
See how nicely it sits?
My first attempt at an internal zipper.

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Simplicity 2396 + some modifications :)

Instructions

I followed the pattern, but modified it pattern slightly because I wanted a gusset in the bottom so the purse would sit upright. And I also wanted a zippered pocket on the inside. :)

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Cute, Casual

Materials

Fabric, Fusible Interfacing, Zipper, Plastic Canvas (for stabilizing the bottom), Fabric Covered Button

What was your inspiration?

I've seen a lot of these purses and think the design is super cute!

What are you most proud of?

My gusset! LOL If I'd paid more attention in highschool Geometry it probably would have taken me less time to figure out, but I didn't, so it took a bit, but it turned out great anyway!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This really looks harder than it is. It's a little time consuming, but the finished product is really worth it!

Very beautiful bag and clever you! You did a great job. Would love one myself by we do not have simplicity patterns in my country! So I just admire yours!

The pattern is Simplicity 2396. I've seen several purses on here made from that pattern, but I did my own tweaking to make it mine! I just love it!
