What was your inspiration?

This was originally supposed to be a lap quilt for someone in a wheelchair but he is I'm told.. "an ass" and did not like or appreciate it, AT ALL. So instead his sister-in-law is keeping the quilt in her truck as a blankie for her two young boys. I am glad that someone is finding it useful :)

What are you most proud of?

Well... first the whole thing but now I'm proud of the fact that even though there was the briefest moment of discouragement over ever doing something nice for anyone again {without being asked to do it} it has passed and I will not let the intended recipient's reaction discourage me from trying to be nice to other people.

This is a beautiful quilt! I cannot understand why anyone would not love it - it is surely their loss!

Nice pattern, nice colors. Sad story behind it though. But as I see, it's nothing from going on creating. That's the most important thing!

A lovely gift - nice, masculine, "outdoorsy" colours too! I've just come from looking at the matching caddy (is that the word?) that you've made for the wheelchair - brilliant! I just know this is going to be so appreciated!

Maybe caddy is a better word than "bag" LOL. Thanks!

This is a lovely quilt and a very thoughtful gift. Btw it is a disappearing 4 patch it is fun to do and you can also cut them on the point instead of square and making triangle shapes making for a totally different pattern block, I made a little pincushion with it.

How very sweet and thoughtful of you. I'm sure that your warming and warm hearted gift is very much appreciated. The layout has given a wonderful sunshine and shadows effect to the quilt. Nice work!

How very thoughtful Penny. You've inspired me. Perhaps I can make some of these for the injured returning from overseas.... And BTW, is that the disappearing four patch pattern?

Um.... I have no idea!!! It is from "Modern Designs for Classic Quilts"... a soft cover book... here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/Modern-Designs-Classic-Quilts-Traditionally/dp/1440229686 I don't even know what a disappearing 9-patch is so I couldn't tell you if this was a disappearing anything. LOL. It's just a four patch cut on each side of the center seams... then swapping the center pieces around.

It's supposed to be "oudoorsy" LOL. At least that is what I was trying to go for.
