The Vintage School Dress is perfect for both your historical girl dolls, and for the more modern ones too. The old fashioned design will work with modern fabric choices just as well as it does with the more traditional fabrics.
The unlined dropped waist dress with bound neckline and collar options has a choice of sleeve styles, and instructions for gathered or pleated skirts. The collar can be made lined or unlined and instructions are given for using piping and lace with the cuffs and lined collar, and rick rack trim with the unlined collar. The dress can also be made without the collar if preferred.
There is plenty of room on the bodice to add machine embroidery or other embellishments, should you so wish. The only limit is your own imagination!
The pattern pieces for the Vintage School Dress are compatible with the Sorrell Dress too, so if you have both patterns you can mix and match skirt and sleeve styles to create endless variations.
The Vintage School Dress pattern has full step by step photo instructions, and computer drawn pattern pieces.

I've been sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidering all my life. I love making up my own designs and dressing dolls and teddy bears. For many years I made artist teddy bears and sold them under the name Ninie-Bears. I made over 500 bears that were sold all over the world including USA, Switzerland and Japan. Nowadays I design doll clothes patterns and I digitize designs for machine embroidery too.
My doll patterns fit the popular 18 inch soft bodied dolls such as the American Girl Doll, Gotz Precious Day series, Mme Alexander, Our Generation and Springfield dolls. Some of the patterns also fit the Bitty Baby and Bitty Twins dolls. If in doubt, please ask! All the patterns are tested extensively before being offered for sale.
