Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Hand sewing skills; machine sewing optional.

Pattern Description:

Need a very special gift for a new baby? Or looking for that perfect retro item for your shelves? Now you can make your very own early 20th century style Retro Clown clutch ball.

The pieces can be hand or machine stitched but the doll must be hand assembled. The face pattern is provided and can be embroidered or painted on. Instructions are given in both metric and imperial measurements.

To make this doll infant-safe, simply omit the buttons and sew on some felt circles instead.

The templates and instructions may be printed on either A4 or US letter paper.

You can use new or repurposed materials. The Retro Clown shown was made from repurposed wool and silk fabrics, linen, repurposed tulle, vintage buttons and vintage ric rac. He is stuffed with wool fleece.
