Here's a pretty little dress for all the girls in The Dress Up Bunch.
It's CRAZY easy to make. No set in sleeves. No facings. No hemming curves.
Amazingly - it's a tiny little doll dress - but there's nothing at all fiddly in the construction.
You can make one in less than an hour. Seriously!
Made up in a pretty fabric it's perfect as is. But it's also a great blank-canvas dress for use with simpler fabrics.
Add some rickrack or other fancy trim around the bottom hem. Maybe some pompom or beaded fringe?
Add a bit of embroidery. Add some special buttons. Dress it up or down to suit your doll's needs - and personality. :-)
Use this one pattern to make up a whole wardrobe of dresses! They're so fast to make that you could whip up a rainbow of colors in a single afternoon.
This dress is easy for little hands to put on and take off all by themselves. The head and arm openings are stretchy elastic and the belt closes with one simple snap (shown in the second photo). Easy peasy!
I designed these to last. All the edges are finished and the clothes will be durable enough for lots of not-always-gentle play and any necessary trips through the washer and dryer.
What You Get
* full-size pattern for the dress - no enlarging needed
* detailed instructions and lots of step by step photos - you'll never feel lost or wonder if you're doing it right
* links to videos teaching you all the skills you'll need to complete the project
What You'll Need
* 1 fat quarter fabric
* scrap of fabric for the belt
* 1 9 mm snap (optional - you could also use a single button or bit of hook & loop tape)
* 20 inches 1/8? elastic
* less than an hour
Easy! Easy! Easy! Even if you just started sewing you can make this dress!
This will fit all the dolls in The Dress Up Bunch - including the critters. (You can see other Dress Up Bunch dolls and outfits in the additional photos)
BUT it doesn't include instructions for a tail opening since there's no center back seam. Long tails will hang out the bottom of the dress - short tails will be hidden. :-(
