About 14 years ago I accepted a transfer to Winnipeg where I was inspired a by a friend to start making cloth dolls before that I studied art and made jewellery, painted and pretty much did what ever inspired me. In January I moved my art dolls to their own home on etsy, so you can find them at www.nancyperennec.etsy.com
I am as crazy about fabric, ribbon and beads as most women are about shoes. I'd rather fabric shop than clothing shop any day... unless that is we're going to a vintage shop. I look at the clothes there as shopping for supplies as well.... another thing I can take apart and re-purpose.
I'm also a little nuts about learning technique and products. As such, I haven't settled into to being just a cloth doll artist, puppet maker, doll maker, jewelry designer, knitter or sculptor. I'm all of the above.
My art dolls, puppets and accessories have gone on to new homes around the world via ebay and etsy.
I am a member the ADO, Art Dolls Only, Art Doll Sculpting Guild, the South Etobicoke Doll Artists Guild, registered with International doll artist registry, daughter, sister, aunt, colleague, teacher and friend.
I get inspiration from books and movies and everyday life and other peoples creativity.
I try to be especially careful in my listings to make them as accurate as possible but should you have a question please feel free to contact me. Buying an art doll is an investment for a collector and I will give you as much background as you need in how I came about constructing the piece.
All my dolls are signed and most uniquely one of a kind. I do on occasion make a doll from a pattern of an artist I may have come across. These patterns help me learn new techniques and I always give credit where credit is due.
Thanks for spending time with me.
