Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Curved sewing
  • Darts
  • Fusible web applique

Pattern Description:

This pattern is made to resemble a plush version of a delicious nikuman. It's a Japanese meat filled bun that usually contains roast pork or vegetables.

This plush is made from fleece, so it's a great project for beginners and comes out looking especially smooth and soft. The project requires some skill in applique, but the pattern includes an entire section on how to sew the applique features in lots of different ways that will fit your skill level!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 5" x 5" x 6"


  • 1/4 yd. or 15" x 20" scrap of cream fleece
  • 3" x 3" scrap of black applique fabric
  • 3" x 3" scrap of light or heavy duty fusible web

You Will Also Need:

  • Batting
  • Matching sewing thread
  • Basic sewing tools (sewing machine, scissors, iron, needles, pins, fabric marker, seam ripper)
  • White fabric paint
