Skill Level:

little skill level requirement Novice

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Straight sewing
  • Curved sewing
  • Ladder stitch
  • Fusible web applique

Pattern Description:

This pattern is made to resemble a plush version of a basic Maki sushi roll -- that is a simple sushi roll of a filling you choose (depending on the color, it could look like tuna, cucumber, or tempura shrimp), wrapped in a sheet of nori seaweed.

This plush is made from fleece, so it's a great project for beginners and comes out looking especially smooth and soft. The project requires some skill in applique, but the pattern includes an entire section on how to sew the applique features in lots of different ways that will fit your skill level!

This pattern can be used for both personal and commercial use as long as you credit my website, :)

  • 2" x 2" scrap of green/red/golden brown applique fabric
