Kangaroo Plush Sewing Pattern

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • If you can sew - you can sew a soft toy! No fancy stitches are needed - just straight lines - so it's a fun simple project!
  • I have lots of toy-making tutorials on my blog for beginners - http://www.funkyfriendsfactory.com/learn-to-sew-toys/

Pattern Description:

Joey is a very simple pattern. He's a great project for a beginner as he is quick and easy to make and he is made from only one fabric. Fleece makes him really cuddly but any stretch fabric should be fine.
This baby kangaroo with his nappy/diaper makes a lovely toy for girls and boys. If you are making Joey for an adult, you can add your own baby accessories with a dummy on a chain around his neck and some safety pins in his nappy.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished Toy Size: 15"/38cm

  • Light brown fleece material - 76cmx36cm/ 30inchesx14inches.
  • Thin white towelling - 46cmx33cm/ 18inchesx13inches.

You Will Also Need:

  • 5mm black beads for eyes.
  • Strong thread for sewing on eyes.
  • Scraps of embroidery thread for the mouth.
  • Plastic pellets (about 100g/ 31/2 ounces).
