The edges of sleeves are finished with lace and the sleeves are gathered and tied with a pink ribbon. The collar is also made from white batiste. View 2 is shown in the blue broadcloth dress with a white insert smocked with mostly blue thread and blue ribbon. The sleeves are the same as View 1. View 3 is pictured in the navy broadcloth dress that has been smocked with bright colored ribbons and floss. This view has gathered sleeves with a band. I started sewing as a very young child and absolutely fell in love with the craft. As a young mother I made all of my own clothes as well as those for my four children. While my children were in school, I also went to school and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. Later, in life I changed careers and became a computer programmer and then a webmaster.
It seems like sewing has been the great passion and comforter during my whole life. It has always been fun to learn or create something new. And it has carried me through the difficult times in my life.
Now that I am in the older phase of my life, I have started a new career designing doll clothes that fit the American Girl Doll. I love the old sewing crafts, such as smocking and heirloom sewing techniques. And I absolutely want everything I create to fit properly.
