Pattern Description:

Create a beautiful Hot Air Balloon Mobile, or single air balloon, with this plush sewing pattern.

Nothing brings out craftiness like a precious new baby. This pattern was originally created for my baby boy who spent many hours mesmerised by his hot air balloons floating along with stitched little clouds.

The mobile pattern comes as a PDF (digital file) format and includes easy to follow, step-by-step instructions, diagrams and pattern pieces. Both metric and imperial measurements are included and the pattern is printable on US letter or A4 paper.

Each balloon measures around 20cm (8in) high by 12cm (4.5in) wide.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Each balloon measures around 20cm (8in) high by 12cm (4.5in) wide. The entire finished mobile dimensions are approximately 65cm (25in) high by 40cm wide (15in). You can of course adjust to your desired height or scale the pattern up for larger balloons.

Materials:

  • Quilting fabric {four x 20cm x 40cm/ 8 x 16" pieces}
  • White felt {20 x 20cm/ 8 x 8"}
  • Felt for baskets {10 x 20cm /4 x 8"}
  • Dowel or twigs{ 2 x 30cm/12" long, 9.5mm 3/8" diameter}
  • Embroidery perle 5 {2 skeins to match baskets and clouds}
  • Toy Stuffing {approx 250g}
  • Fabric scraps for bunting
