Dapper Mr. Fox is a fan of trains. He reads every book he can find on the subject and runs out to watch the steam puff out each time one passes on the other side of the valley. He enjoys baking pies as a hobby. His favorite is strawberry pie, and he is currently working on perfecting his peach pie recipe. He enjoys sharing his pies with his neighbors, and invites them over to play card games after eating pie.
Vintage children's stories with animals wearing clothes and carrying on in human-like lives are a huge inspiration to me. Peter Rabbit, Wind in the Willows, Richard Scarry's books all were all my favorites as a kid. Having a little boy of my own now and sharing those beloved stories with him has brought them all back for me. I love to sketch little characters, and one day I drew a tall fox with hands on his hips, elbows akimbo, and I could hardly sleep until I had recreated him in three dimensions. And here is the pattern so that you can create him too!
This PDF includes 13 pages of instructions with detailed photos illustrating each step, in addition to the pattern piece pages.
