Basic Skills Necessary:

  • If you can sew - you can sew a soft toy! No fancy stitches are needed - just straight lines - so it's a fun simple project!
  • I have lots of toy-making tutorials on my blog for beginners - http://www.funkyfriendsfactory.com/learn-to-sew-toys/

Pattern Description:

Charlie is the second "Aussie Mates" (Australian) Funky Friend. The inspiration for Charlie cockatoo came from the cheeky cockatoos that visit the birdbath just outside my sewing room window. If I've forgotten to put out seed they actually call out for their breakfast -and they make quite a raucous noise!

Charlie is very easy to make and he's really popular with children who seem fascinated by his wacky sulphur yellow crest. Making his body and wings from fleece gives him a really cuddly feel, but I've even had someone make him out of denim!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:
