These adorable felt finger puppets are simple to make! They are stitched entirely by hand, using a whip stitch around the felt edges and French knots for the eyes (a diagram is included for the French Knot). Instructions are given to make the five birds pictured, along with a fabric carrying case (sample case is stitched by machine but it can be completed by hand - this is the same carrying case that goes with our other felt finger puppets). The finished puppets are 2" x 2 3/4" (this measurement does not include the wings). The puppets are made from scraps of felt, buttons and ribbon (a combination of acrylic and wool felt was used for samples). Finger puppets are not recommended for children under the age of three.
This six page PDF e-pattern includes full size patterns to make an owl, flamingo, bluebird, cardinal and parrot, plus the measurements to make the carrying case (patterns are not included for carrying case); a materials list; detailed instructions written in English; and clear step-by-step photos.
