Pattern Description:

The Classic Storybook series continues with Little Red Riding Hood. Button jointed muslin construction, with acrylic yarn hair and button eyes. Red's doll is an old-fashion topsy-turvy style - grandma on one end and the wolf on the other. Flip the skirt over either way to reveal one or the other. It's easy to make. Pattern includes full size pattern pieces and fully illustrated, step-by-step instructions for Red Riding Hood, her outfit and her topsy-turvy doll.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • finished red riding hood doll is about 17" tall, flip doll is about 11"


  • 1/2 yd natural or light peach muslin
  • two 1/4" - 1/2" rounded black shank buttons for eyes
  • four 1/2" - 3/4" plain, flat buttons for doll joints
  • hand quilting/hand sewing thread to match doll fabric
  • polyfil - approx. 24 oz
  • red and black fine tip fabric marker for face
  • pink or peach powder blush (optional)
  • 3" or longer doll sculpting needle
  • 3 oz of 3 ply acrylic yarn for hair, plus scrap yarn for grandma
  • 1/3 yd yellow cotton blend for dress
  • 1/4 yd red cotton blend for cape
  • 1/8 yd white cotton or blend for pantaloons
  • 1/2 yd cotton blend for flip doll nightgowns (or two 1/2 yd pcs)
  • 12" square of thin black vinyl for shoes
  • remnant of ribbing or odd sock for socks

You Will Also Need:

  • three 3/8" or 1/2" buttons for dress
  • 2/3 yd of 1/2" ribbon for cape ties
  • 12" of 1/4" elastic for pantaloons
  • muslin scrap for grandma
  • 1/8 yd textured felt or thin fake fur for wolf
  • 2 yds narrow lace for nightgown and caps
  • 1/2 yd narrow elastic for nightgown
  • 1 yd narrow ribbon for gown ties
  • three small buttons or beads for wolfs eyes & nose
