Pattern Description:

An essential for any plus size women's wardrobe, slips act like instant linings. They increase opacity, allow clothing to slide over the body without clinging, and they're quintessentially pretty and feminine!

The shorter version is just above the knee on most figures, and features a back walking slit. The longer version features a hip yoke to reduce bulk around the hips and waist, where we don't need it, yet it's full enough for a long walking stride; the length is upper mid calf on most figures. Both slips may be hemmed rather than trimmed with lace for a more tailored look.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Multi-sized 1X - 6X; waist 39-59 inches; hips 55-75 inches

Materials:

Conventional sewing machine.
Optional serger.
Usual cutting, marking, and sewing tools.

You Will Also Need:

For long slip: 3.5 yards 45 inch wide fabrics, such as wovens: silk charmeuse, silk crepe de chine, China silk; cotton lawn or batiste; or synthetic equivalents. Also in lightweight knits such as nylon tricot, nylon or poly jersey, nylon or poly and spandex blends such as swimwear fabrics.
Optional 1-3 inch wide scalloped lace trim: for long slip, 3 yards; for short slip, 2.5 yards.
3/8 inch wide elastic, 1.5 yards.
Thread to match fabric and trim.
