Start with a sweatshirt your size or a little bigger. Choose a checked fabric for the binding and cuffs. Choose wool or felt for the goldfinch and flowers. Add beads or French knots to the flower centers. Instructions include how to make the binding and remove the sweatshirt wrist ribbing to make the turned up cuff. Finally-a sweatshirt jacket that fits your arm length! Make your jacket and enjoy the compliments!

My quilt patterns have been published in magazines and books and I freelance design patterns for Clothworks fabric company. I have self published and coauthored a book, Strangled by Wild Geese with my daughter, Laura Day. She wrote the quilt mystery in the book and I designed and made the projects all using flying geese segments-check it out at our website-www.cottagequiltdesigns.info.
