My bottle cozies are very handy items to have, and fun to make. These can be made very simply by just using two different fabrics and batting, or can be more artistic creations, using orphan blocks, paint, fibers, and decorative stitches.
My bottles of icy drinks were leaving puddles from condensation everywhere I set the bottle down, summer or winter. I hated having to remember to grab a coaster and move it with me wherever I wandered, so my Quilted Bottle Cozy was born. The cozies act as portable coasters and even help to keep the cold in as well as keeping tabletops dry, while looking good. Also, with the newer super thin plastic bottles water is sold in, a quilted cozy can make the bottle feel a bit more substantial in your hands and will also let you know which one is yours in a group (If you put down your bottle of water or soda at a party, picnic, or outdoor sporting event, how do you remember which one is yours if they all look alike?)
This pattern contains detailed written instructions along with numerous photos of each step along the way. You will be able to make a cozy for any size bottle you have, from common soda and water bottles to purchased reusable bottles. You will also learn several techniques, including couching yarns, fused piecing, and even my satin stitch seamed construction that can be used to create other projects, too.

I love create beautiful art, gifts and household items with fabric, paint and thread; using flowers, gardens and my surroundings as inspiration. I have begun to write patterns so that anyone who wants, can now create some of my gift items that include Tote Bags, Notebook and Journal covers, Photo Album Covers, Fabric Bowls and more.
I also love to paint, sunprint and dye my own fabrics to use in my work. See my finished items for sale on ArtFire.com here- http://www.andrusgardens.artfire.com/
