Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic machine and hand-sewing skills
  • Basic applique skills

Pattern Description:

Make a new feathered friend! Use your fabric stash to make this easy and quick pattern.

This is a great pattern to use with kids! It's been tested it with my 9-year old daughter who inspired the design during our Mom/Daughter sewing night.

Try using other fabrics like fleece and minky to create a cute toy!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 9" tall x 8" wide
  • Can reduce, increase size of pattern for different-sized owls.


  • Owl body - 1 quilting fat quarter or other piece of fabric 18" x 22"
  • Wings - 1 piece of fabric 7"x 7"
  • Eyes - 1 piece of fabric 5"x 6"
  • Beak - fabric scrap
  • 2 buttons for eyes (can use any size)
  • Fabric Adhesive such as Heat and Bond, Stitch Witchery, etc. 14" wide x 11" long
  • Pinking shears or other decorative scissors
  • Coordinating Thread
  • Fiberfil Stuffing
