I love fabric. Seriously, I. LOVE. FABRIC. I love to shop for it, collect it, and bring it home. Rarely can I go into a store and come out empty handed – especially if the store has fat quarters :) ...

I love this pattern, especially that it is fully lined. Thank you for posting it! The sizing didn't work quite right for me though. They turned out wider and shorter than hoped. It could definitely be the fault of my sewing though. :/

What sizes does this pattern include?

Hi! I have made a ton of these baby shoes! They turn out great...however, I do believe that the sizing is a bit off. They turn out so wide. Are they supposed to be wide? The finished measurements aren't matching the measurements you have on your pattern. Any advice? I love how well written and straight forward the pattern is though :)

Hi Alyssa,

I used and extra layer of felt between the outer and inner layers of the sole and the added thickness made for a perfect fit. However, turning out that added thickness is a bit of a challenge and one of my first outer seams was a little wonky looking. I made three pairs of shoes from this pattern and by the third pair I had the process down to a snap.

I agree with Hobo Soup - this is a great pattern with written instructions. The only tricky bit I found is hand stitching the 2 edges closed, where the shoe was turned right side out. Great pattern

Should have said "with well-written instructions"

Hi Pansipotter,

When I used seersucker to make the outer shoe of my first pair, I had trouble closing up that seam too. So, for the next pair I pressed a little fusible interfacing inside of the seam to hold it in place, and then I blind stitched the outer edge.

This pattern is easy to follow, with clear directions and a minimal number of pattern pieces. I've made several pairs of shoes from this pattern, and other PetitBoo designs, and they were all so well received that the baby's mother put them in a shadow box after my granddaughter outgrew them.
