What is the material you can use for this pattern? Is it possible to use Lycra or does it have to be a woven fabric?

According to the pattern picture, cotton jersey, jersey knit, or nylon blends. It recommends stretch fabrics but states it can be made in non-stretch. You'd probably have to see the instructions to see how the fabric requirements change for stretch vs non-stretch, but I think you'd be pretty safe using Lycra, but may have to do a little accommodating for different stretch, which I think would count more in this pattern. Also, check your machine to see if it suggests a different stitch for swimwear since that could very a little based on the fabric type.
