Pattern Description:

The Alex Pillow

This listing is for PDF pattern instructions to make this fabulous and unique pillow to enhance your home decor. When I had a client who wanted a volleyball pillow for her daughter's room I could not find any patterns or instructions so I developed one. Here it is!

This pillow is approximately the size of a regulation volleyball/water polo ball- about 9" in diameter. The detailed instructions will allow you to make a 3 color traditional style volleyball or water polo ball. You can also make solid sections or use a striped fabric for a similar effect.

I would not recommend this as a first sewing project, but the average crafty sewer will be able to make this lovely pillow. This is a great project to make with a child/teen learning to sew! Fun to make and donate to a team fundraiser or auction.

This detailed pattern will take you step-by-step through the construction of the pillow. Every step is described and a full color photograph is provided to illustrate the step. No assuptions of skill are made (other than operating your sewing machine!) and each step is brief and logically stated in large print.

I have been sewing for interiors for over 20 years and have attended numerous classes, seminars and other instructional venues. I hope that sharing my experience with you in making beautiful items for your home will give you much pleasure and lessen frustration with trying to 'figure out' how to make an item without instructions.

I also offer sewing tips and brief tutorials on my blog at www.gailadesigns.blogspot.com
