Pattern Description:

Bring some of the fun of winter into your home without the "BRRRRR" factor. These lovely scarf, cap & mittens fabric bowls make great decorating accents or winter hostess gifts. They are perfect holding snacks (nothing greasy, please!) candy, cookies, winter decorating goodies. They are also very pretty sitting on a table or mantle on their own.
The pdf file format pattern consists of written instructions illustrated with photos as well as actual size patterns.
Very easy to make and fun to customize with your own decorative stitching, trim, beads, etc.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Cap and Mittens Bowl - 10.5" wide x 3" high
  • Scarf Bowl - 9" x 5" x 2" high


  • Sewing machine with 5.0mm wide zig-zag stitch
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • Marking pen or pencil
  • Posterboard, cardboard, or plastic template
  • 2 contrasting fat quarters (2 pieces cotton fabric approx. 18" x 21")
  • 18" heavy 2-sided fusible interfacing e.g. Peltex(r) 2-sided Fusible Ultra Firm Stabilizer or fast2fuse(r) Heavyweight interfacing
  • OR 18" heavy interfacing, e.g. TimtexTM Heavyweight AND 1 yd. fusible web
  • 3/4 yd. Fusible web for appliques(If you are using non-fusible interfacing you will need a total of 1 3/4 yd. fusible web
  • 20" x 36" piece of stabilizer of your choice to do decorative stitching on cap & mittens appliques and middle section of scarf

You Will Also Need:

  • Size 14 machine needle
  • Machine embroidery thread, e.g. Coats and Clark 40 wt. Trilobal Polyester D75 or Sulky(r) 40 wt. Rayon 943
