Basic Skills Necessary:

  • sewing, cutting fabric, inkjet fabric printing, hole punching, ironing

Pattern Description:

I love fabric and designing it, I love France, I love making small fabric structures that are sustainable as accessories, home decor, gifts, jewelry, and I loved walking through the Paris Las Vegas resort! So what perfect way to combine them, and make affordable art crafts that you can wash, wear, display, and use! All of the crafts will have my art, inspired by Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower, and the indoor shopping boulevard facades of Paris Las Vegas resort, that you print out onto washable, inkjet fabric sheets, along with using a yard extra of coordinating cotton, a few inexpensive notions and findings. All of the tools you can buy at a craft supply or fabric store, use 50% off store coupons to save even more - you may already have the tools!

These are easy to wash, just follow the directions on the inkjet fabric manufacturer's packaging, place in a lingerie bag, by themselves, and wash on the cold delicate or permanent press cycle with mild detergent, and then place in the dryer, while still in the lingerie bag, on low for 15 minutes, or stand / lay on a towel.

I use Thermoweb Ultrahold exclusively, which is an acid free fusible web, an iron on, paper backed fabric adhesive, that I use as the patterns to back my fabric panel parts, which also gives structure to the frame, and helps hold in the inkjet ink when washed, I found. You can get a 5 yard roll for as little as $5, while using a Michael's store coupon 50% off.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy this project, and these crafts! The art itself has sold on items on Cafepress.com/profile/kristiehublerscafepress, including their oven mitt, their picture frame for a 4x6" photo, area rugs, shower curtains, and more, and Keds sneakers, necklace, ornaments, and more at zazzle.com/fabricatedframes

Thank you!
Merci beaucoup!

  • inkjet printer, plenty of ink in your inkjet cartridges
  • OPTIONAL: self healing cutting mat or protective surface for your work area for cutting, rotary cutter, mini iron, hole puncher - for punching out holes for both brooches' 2 back panels, for pin back to stay in place, but if you have arthritis, it is easier to poke through the fabric and Ultrahold fused panels with embroidery scissors, and then cut gently around the circle to make the hole

You Will Also Need:

  • cold tap water and a clean, old towel, to rinse your June Tailor washable inkjet printer fabric and lay flat to dry before sewing
  • old pillowcase or clean old piece of fabric to sandwich between your inkjet printer fabric sheet and iron, so you don't scorch or mar your print out with the iron
