Pillow Cover with Easy Zipper Tutorial

from Trina Peterson Patterns
(9) Name: 'Sewing : Pillow Cover with Easy Zipper Tutorial
Pillow Cover with Easy Zipper Tutorial Pillow cover with zipper closure

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Measure and cut fabric pieces using measuring tape & scissors, or rotary cutter, mat & gridded ruler
  • Use a sewing machine

Pattern Description:

Conquer your fear of zippers and make a professional looking pillow cover that can be easily removed for washing.

This tutorial will show you how to add easy zipper tabs to the ends of any longer-than-necessary zipper. No more last minute runs to the craft store. Just use whatever you have in your stash. I find that adding tabs also makes zippers easier to install. *Please note that using zipper tabs requires you to sew across the zipper teeth. Metal zippers will not work with this method: you must use plastic/nylon zippers.

Making new pillow covers is an easy and fast way to spruce up the look of any room.

If you want to make your own pillow forms, I also have an easy tutorial about how to do this on my Craftsy pattern page.

Have fun!
