Butterfly Butterfly

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Sew
  • work with a soldering iron

Pattern Description:

While away an afternoon making a pretty butterfly using a number of different techniques to keep it interesting. This butterfly will look beautiful hanging in a window and will make a lovely gift for your favourite little girl


  • A selection of synthetic fabric scraps plus synthetic organza about 20 x 40 cm
  • Machine sewing cotton in a couple of colours
  • Calico fabric about 20 x 20cm
  • 2 craft chenille sticks - 30cm long
  • Super wash wool tops for stuffing
  • Tiny scraps of wool tops for face and hair - flesh, red, blue, black, brown, yellow
  • Chenille type yarn
  • Small jump ring
  • Key Ring
  • Clear elastic cord
  • 2 crimp beads

You Will Also Need:

  • Dremel Versatip or other soldering iron
  • Piece of thick glass - about 500 x 500 mm to use as a work surface
  • Old towel
  • Metal ruler or similar straight metal edge
  • Dress makers pencil
  • Sharp scissors
  • Sewing machine with free embroidery foot
  • Felting needle/s
  • Thick piece of foam rubber
  • Sewing needle
  • Round nose pliers
  • Wool needle
