I was big into natural childbirth and breast feeding when my kids were born about 40 years ago. But I didn't know about the Moses Basket then. I wish I had known. It's a way to keep your baby close and comfy. Although you should not carry the baby in the basket according to the warnings that come with the baskets, you can move the basket first with the handles and then put the baby in. You should put the basket on a firm, flat surface. I love them and have sold many of these patterns. I also have one for a lapped bedding that goes over the side of the basket.
