are there any directions? All I got was the picture and diagram of pieces. They were not full size or anything. Did I get it all?

Hi! Yes, you got it all. I indicated in the overview that the pattern must be scaled up. The pattern is just as it appeared in its original newspaper printing. Very limited instructions. People (namely women) of the day were expected to have (right or wrong) enough sewing skills to put the pattern together with very limited instruction. Unlike the patterns we have today that are full of step-by-step instruction. Of course, over time this changed. Have fun putting it together.

This pattern needsbetter instructions because I can't tell, either from the finished drawing or from the pieces themselves, how the waist is gathered and where the drape and loop go. I can't finish it. Wasted my fabric.:(

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. The pattern is an EXACT rendition of the 1927 pattern. The instructions do tend to be a bit vague because it was thought most women during the time as good enough sewing skills to complete the construction without extreme detail. Over time-patterns and instruction sheets got better- In any case, it's always good to mock up any pattern in muslin before attempting to complete a project in your final fashion fabric. If you're not familiar with muslins/toiles-Craftsy offers a number of classes that can help you. Good luck!

Her fault? Unfortunately, I believe you're serious. It is a good idea to mock up any pattern first before attempting to construct a garment in its final fashion fabric. That's a lesson that's also reiterated here on Craftsy throughout many, if not most, of the sewing classes. Start with a muslin. Yes, it is important.

wow Mica, Instead I really think it would be more polite to simply ask if Miss Calandra could possibly assist with her own personal instruction help on whatever issues she is having instead of being rude.
