Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You will need to know how to use your sewing machine, and how to sew oil-cloth (PVC coated) fabric on it.

Pattern Description:

Here in New Zealand we have a lot of Barbecues in the summer and an all encompassing apron is a must! This apron will cope with all the splatters etc that are inevitable. Made in a suitable fabric, the guys will love it or something a little more ladylike for the girls. It is a practical rather than beautiful apron!
The pattern includes instructions for making the adult apron and also for making a child's apron which would be great for art or baking activities. Such a good apron to have on hand when you need a quick cover-up!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Adult and child sizes


  • Adult
  • 1 yard oil-cloth (PVC coated) fabric
  • 2 3/4 yards cotton tape for ties
  • Child
  • 1 yard oil-cloth (PVC coated) fabric
  • 1 3/4 yards cotton tape for ties

You Will Also Need:

  • Sewing machine
  • general sewing supplies, scissors, pins etc
  • optional - Teflon foot for sewing machine to help the oil-cloth glide through
