Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic sewing skills, working with stretch knits

Pattern Description:

This is an empire top - ends under the bust. You can add any fabric to the bottom hem, to create your own unique look. In the example above I used a rayon fabric so it is has some drape and stretch to it, and I attached a tube belt from the Tube Belt Pattern to the bottom hem to create this shirt. You can also add a skirt to create a simple empire line dress.

As with all my patterns there are no instructions...because they are simple shapes with few seams. I wanted to create a blank slate of patterns for you to get creative with, I think its more fun that way. Any of these patterns can be done separately or attached with other patterns to create new styles. Would love to see your finished projects!

Suggested fabrics: 100% Cotton Jersey, Poly Rayon Jersey, Rayon Jersey, reclaimed T-shirt fabric, stretch knits

Hi! I'm Gaby, I've been sewing, drawing, painting, just making anything creative since I was a kid, and later these skills transitioned into working as a graphic and clothing designer for various companies.
I think just the act of doing something creative is a very relaxing and at the same time an energetic experience that is rewarding and addicting! :)
