Pattern Description:

Erin McKean's book The Hundred Dresses is a field guide to frocks identifying every iconic dress from The Austen to The Xena.

We thought it would be great to make patterns for our own version of some of these frocks. Possibly not The J-Lo or The Cupcake Bride but first up, we're tackling The Bouquet - a dress that "is meant to call to mind the traditional association of women with flowers: whether you are a shrinking violet, an exotic orchid, a full-blown rose, or as fresh as a daisy."

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Multisize pattern covers most sizes
  • 8 sizes range from Bust 73cm (29") to 108cm (43")


  • 2.4m (2 3/4 yd) fabric of any width (ie.90-150cm or 36-60")

You Will Also Need:

  • Bias binding (1m or 40")
  • Matching thread and usual sewing equipment - machine, scissors, pins etc.
