Zipper pouches are a wonderful place let your sewing imagination run free! There are many different things you can do to add your own style to a simple pouch. They are great for patchwork, applique, embroidery, bead work, showing off some of your favorite trims, etc.

This document includes basic outlines for 8 small pouches. Each piece includes markings at the top indicating the length of the trimmed and prepared zipper.

There are also templates for two finger straps and one end cover piece.

  • How to make a zipper pouch with a zipper that has either one covered end & one folded end, or two covered ends. My Zip Pouches Pattern uses the one covered end & one folded end concept.
  • How to make a continuous strap. I use a 3/4" - 1" diameter split keyring and add it to the strap BEFORE sewing. It's easier to put it on the strap before sewing since it can be tricky to slide the soft fabric through stiff ring.
