I am an engineer by trade with a love of all things that are simultaneously stylish, functional, durable, and affordable.
THE NEED: head protection from the elements, that is easily portable for daily travel.SOLUTION: a sun and rain hat that can be folded up for easy storage when not in use.
I have a major problem with all hats, and that is that I have a big, 23 1/2 inch head, you admit this hat is for a 22 inch head, how would I go about making it fit my head?carol email@example.com
Make the seams 1/8 " to make hat larger.
Could this hat be made to be reversible using 2 different contrasting fabrics?
It looks like the directions call for 2 brims to be cut out of the main fabric, but the layout only shows 1. The supplies list calls for 1/2 a yard (which I bought from a shop almost 50 miles from my home) of main fabric and it doesn't look like I have enough...what am I missing? Please help.
You fold the fabric in half where the pattern says "fold fabric here." You'll then get two brims.
Hi I"m so proud of you, have worn hats since I was 16 was taught by a milliner who mad hats for 2 presidents wives in the 1940's she wa 15 at the time have been making a simple style Cloche w'rolled brim, so far have created 9 variations of the simple pattern. They look awesome. My prototype model Rita really makes me so proud everytime I see her. Great with a machine, needle and thread ,and I always think out of the box. Now the truth is I am a Tech IDIOT don know how to print out one of your free patterns Rain and Sun hat! Thanks so much. Would much rather purchase over the phone if that is possible. Thanks so much Cissy
I love this hat but I have a small head. How can I reduce the size to fit a size 20 head? Thanks, Mary Lou
