Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Rotary cutting; basic piecing; quilting

Pattern Description:

Make this handy Spirit Tote with an American flag motif or show off a favorite theme print. The American flag is easy to make using any red and white stripe or try a red and white chevron or zigzag print for fun. Not into flags? Substitute a favorite sports team print and the appropriate appliqu and you'll be ready for the next big game. How about an apple print for your child's favorite teacher?

The tote is wide and can carry a large throw and an extra sweatshirt for a day at the beach or an outing to see fireworks. It's also the perfect size for hauling a bunch of binders and folders. There are two pockets on the outside (the blue star fields on the flag version) and two on the inside. Templates are included so you can substitute a fused fabric star for the button star (or use a small white on blue star print fabric instead). Baseball, football, soccer, basketball, and hockey appliqu templates are also included so you can make a tote for your favorite sports Mom.
