Pattern Description:

I am in love with this bag! It is a small tote that is the perfect size to hold books and magazines, my mail for Post Office runs, and my wallet and "necessities" for running errands. I wanted to make this pattern for the 2 1/2" squares. The bags in the 2nd and 3rd photos I made with the mini charms (precut packages of 2 1/2" squares). The bag in the main picture I made with 1/8 yard cuts for the 2 1/2" squares, to maintain a "matchy" look. These bags are so fun to make, you will want to make one for all of your friends!

This bag is lined. This bag has no zippers or pockets, so it is an easy, quick, basic bag to make.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 10" wide x 10" tall x 4" deep

  • 26 2 1/2" squares in three different colors (1/8 yard each or scraps OR one mini charm pack
  • 3/4 yard for outer bag, handles & lining
  • 3/4 yard of pellon medium weight or decor weight fusible interfacing
  • **if you want to quilt your outer bag, 17" x 29" piece of low loft batting

You Will Also Need:

  • Quilting mat, quilting ruler and rotary cutter
  • 12 1/2" square quilting ruler is helpful
