This floppy hat is so sweet and easy to make! It comes in three sizes - small (19" for children 2 to 4 years), medium (20" for children 4 to 6 years) and large (21" for children 6 to 8 years). Make the hat from cotton fabric for casual wear. Make the hat from corduroy, wool or ultra suede to dress it up to wear with a fall or winter outfit (if you are making a winter hat, fleece is a great fabric to use for the lining material). Or use specialty fabrics to make the hat for costumes. Bias tape is sewn around the outside edge of the brim. The hat is reversible. Turn the brim up for a fun look! The hat also looks adorable with a cute flower embellishment. See the last page of the instructions to see photos of the hat with the brim turned up and a purchased flower embellishment.
This seven page PDF e-pattern includes full size patterns for the hat top and hat brim, measurements for the hat crown (which is the rectangle that goes around the side of the hat), a detailed materials list, clear instructions written in English and step-by-step photographs.
