If you can sew a straight line, then you can make this bag! This pattern assumes a basic level of sewing knowledge, and walks you through a few bag-making basics whilst creating your own fab purse.

Pattern Description:

This mid-sized purse is just perfect for a dressed-up occasion, or your next day at the Races! Featuring a smart handle and accessorised with a clip on silk flower, it can be as fun and frilly, or as elegant a bag as the occasion demands. This purse is Fat Quarter friendly and features a simple inner pocket and a magnetic clasp closure and is very quick and easy to make.

As the 'daughter' half of a Mom and Daughter design team, I wanted to make a purse that was quick and easy. It also had to be Fat Quarter friendly, whilst still being funky and modern and we think this is it!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Bag Dimensions are 10 inches wide at the base, tapering slightly to 8 inches wide at the top x 81/2 inches high, and 11/2 inches deep.

Materials:

You Will Need: Fat Quarter of fabric in the colour you choose for the bag outer, Fat Quarter of fabric for the bag lining, Small amount (equivalent to a fat quarter) light-weight fusible pellon/batting, Small amount (equivalent to a fat quarter) light-weight fusible interfacing/stabiliser, Small amount (equivalent to a fat quarter) medium-weight fusible interfacing/stabiliser, 1 small magnetic clasp set, Pair of handles (we used black beaded handles), Small scrap of fusible heavy interfacing (You can use the medium weight if you don't have any heavy weight.)

You Will Also Need:

Your Sewing Machine, and thread to match your fabric. Also a silk flower of your choice on a pin or (hair)clip to embellish your finished purse.
